2026 MONACO GRAND PRIX 07 - 09 June 2026 The Stewards From The Stewards To The Team Manager, Cadillac Formula 1 Team Document 69 Date 07 June 2026 Time 15:25 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following: No / Driver 11 - Sergio Perez Competitor Cadillac Formula 1 Team Time 15:03 Session Race Fact Car 11 was out of position at the start of the race, taking the vacant position left by Car 5 which started in the pit lane. Infringement Breach of Article B5.11.1 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision Drive through penalty. Reason The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video and in-car video evidence. Car 11 started from position 16 instead of position 18. In Monaco, two places on the grid is a very significant advantage. Therefore the penalty needs to reflect this, when compared to other false start incidents including being in the wrong position at other tracks where the advantage may not have been as significant. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits. Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
