2026 MONACO GRAND PRIX 07 - 09 June 2026 The Stewards From The Stewards To The Team Manager, Scuderia Ferrari HP Document 29 Date 05 June 2026 Time 16:17 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (documents 25 & 26) and heard from the drivers and team representatives, have considered the following matter and determine the following: No / Driver 16 - Charles Leclerc Competitor Scuderia Ferrari HP Time 14:18 Session Free Practice 1 Fact Car 16 unnecessarily impeded Car 30 into turn 18 Infringement Breach of Article B4.1.1 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision Competitor: Formal warning. Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 16 (Charles Leclerc), the driver of Car 30 (Liam Lawson), team representatives and reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, team radio and in-car video evidence. As Car 30 was approaching Car 16 the team advised the driver of Car 16 “3 seconds to Bearman, 5 seconds to Lawson”. This was an accurate statement. However the driver of Car 16 reasonably assumed that this meant there was a 5 second gap between Bearman and Lawson when in fact there was only a 2 second gap. This misunderstanding was ultimately responsible for the unnecessary impeding. The team agreed that it would revise its communication protocols to minimise the future risk of misunderstandings. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits. Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
