2026 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX 22 - 24 May 2026 The Stewards From The Stewards To The Team Manager, Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team Document 89 Date 24 May 2026 Time 13:01 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following: No / Driver 18 - Lance Stroll Competitor Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team Time 11:34 Session Race Fact The following Power Unit elements have been used: 4th Energy Store (ES) 4th Control Electronics Unit (PU-CE) All Power Unit elements were replaced without the approval of the FIA Technical Delegate during parc fermé. Infringement Breaches of Articles B8.2.2 (read with B8.2.3) and B3.5.3 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision Required to start the Race from the pit lane. Reason The use of the 4th Energy Store and Control Electronics Unit would have resulted in a grid drop penalty, however as the Technical Delegates approval was not obtained, this means, in accordance with Article B3.5.3 of the FIA F1 Regulations a start from the pit lane. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits. Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
