2026 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX 22 - 24 May 2026 The Stewards From The Stewards To The Team Manager, Audi Revolut F1 Team Document 55 Date 23 May 2026 Time 13:20 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following: No / Driver 27 - Nico Hulkenberg Competitor Audi Revolut F1 Team Time 12:17 Session Sprint Fact Car 27 left the track and rejoined in the same position, whilst defending against Car 30 Infringement Breach of Article B1.8.6 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision 10 second time penalty. Reason The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, team radio and in-car video evidence. Car 27 left the track at Turn 13 whilst defending against Car 30 into Turn 13, and by doing so, gained a lasting advantage over car 30 by maintaining the position. The driver rejoined the track in front of Car 30 and did not give the position back. The Stewards deemed Car 27 was “defending” its position. The Stewards determine that Car 27 gained a sporting advantage in position and that this advantage was not relinquished. Consistent with the Driving Standards Guidelines this is deemed to be a breach and the base line penalty of 10 seconds is applied. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits. Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
