2026 CANADIAN GRAND PRIX 22 - 24 May 2026 The Stewards From The Stewards To The Team Manager, Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team Document 76 Date 23 May 2026 Time 18:54 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 66) and heard from the team representative, have considered the following matter and determine the following: No / Driver 14 - Fernando Alonso Competitor Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team Time 15:59 Session Qualifying Fact Car 14 was released from the garage into the path of Car 43 Infringement Breach of Article B1.6.2a of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision The competitor (Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team) is fined €5,000. Reason The Stewards heard from the team representative and reviewed position video and in-car video evidence. It was apparent that Car 43 had to swerve and locked the front wheels to avoid a collision with Car 14. This was determined by the Stewards to be an unsafe release. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits. Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
